3D Printing Debate Continues
-
Curtsey of Business Insider, The Morality Of Making Guns On A 3D Printer, by Dylan Love
-
I so do not agree with the philosophy with this article
-
Also, just in case you were wondering, the ATF states that a person can produce a firearm for their own personal use(not for sale though)
-
Here is the link and text,
For your information, per provisions of the Gun Control Act (GCA) of 1968, 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, an unlicensed individual may make a “firearm” as defined in the GCA for his own personal use, but not for sale or distribution.
-
The ATF follows up with this quote
The GCA, 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(3), defines the term “firearm” to include the following:
… (A) any weapon (including a starter gun) which will or is designed to or may be readily converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive: (B) the frame or receiver of any such weapon; (C) any firearm muffler or silencer; or (D) any destructive device. Such term does not include an antique firearm.
-
If you read the rest of the rules regarding the manufacturing of firearms with foreign parts – be careful

Episode 261: The Thrifty Prepper – Store Brand Food(11/15/2012)…
Show Summary:
Repeat after me, “There ain’t one damn thing wrong with eating store brand food.”
Pretty damn basic concept. Store brand food cost less on average than the name brand counter parts. And here is the catch, it taste pretty much the same. Go figure. Hell, for all I know the damn product is probably being manufactured at the same facility and placed in different packaging.
The problem is that most people will not buy the store brand products. Even though they could be saving money on their grocery bills. Why? Cause a hell of lot of people out there associate the store brand products with poverty.
All I am saying is this, “If you continue to live high on the hog, one day you might actually be living in poverty.”
That is why it so damn important to save money now. Food and energy prices are just going to keep rising due to inflation. And those name brand packages just keep getting smaller and smaller, as prices go up.

Store Brand Food
-
I love store brand products – been eating it for years
-
Most of the time, the cost is less than name brand competitors
-
And the taste is pretty much the same
-
Why buy name brand products when a person can save money buying store brand instead?
-
Also, in case you haven’t noticed, the packaging for name brand products is getting smaller
-
But the prices are going up
-
Track the net weight per ounce in the containers or boxes and you will see what I mean
-
Now is the time so save money, as food inflation continues to rise
-
If you still want to enjoy your named brand products – eat those products during the week
-
Prep the store brand products now
-
That way you save money on your preps, store more physical product
-
And if you do not consume the food before it expires, you can simply donate the food to a food bank, Red Cross, or church

Episode 152: What Happens When The Food Runs Out?…
Show Summary:
As I was scratching my head this morning thinking about what I was going to talk about for this segment, I imagined scraping out all of the food at the bottom of a container. And then it dawned on me. A question formed in my head. What happens when the food runs out? Quite the dilemma for preppers who actually work towards self-sufficient. This could be a reality check moment.
Show Topics:
-
Well on the plus side, it takes weeks to expire from starvation
-
You will die from dehydration long before starvation
-
If you have stocked food – probably about a three month supply – you should be okay
-
What ever the crisis is – it possibly could last longer then three months
-
Stores do not last forever
-
So what happens when the food runs out?
-
Have you made contingency plans in case such eventuality happens to you
-
Are you going to hunt for food, scavenge, pick up food at a charitable donation center, use food stamps
-
All are valid questions worth considering, especially if you have family that needs to be taken care of
-
When does your principles clash with the reality of a situation
