This is an adult podcast – you are now officially forewarned
Why This Topic For Today’s Show
-
This podcast is geared towards hope and reflecting about potential futures
-
This podcast is partially inspired by William Strauss and Neil Howe’s, Forth Turning
-
I’m a true believer individual prosperity – however, sometimes the fate of the individual psyche is defined by generational moves, or shifts in the psyche/consciousness of entire generations
-
The terror attacks and subsequent wars, followed by the Greater Depression that we are currently enduring is shaping the Gen X’s and Millennials/Gen Y’s of today’s population
-
I currently belief that we are on the precipitous of some truly frightening movements that will change how we will operate in the future and how our current youth will endure the coming hardships and prosper in the enlightenment
-
Sometimes, in order to learn and adapt, one must struggle so the true course of a person’s soul can be found – this also relates to entire generations as well
The Lost Generation
-
I’m referring to the generation that fought in World War 1 and endured hardships never seen in the last 100 years
-
However, this generation was caught in a maze of truly astounding societal shifts, including the socialist/communist and anarchist movements
-
Women’s suffrage and the gaining of the franchise
-
Imperialism across other countries and contents
-
The end of the Chinese Empire and the beginnings of the modern Japanese Empire
-
The Spanish Flu – World wide 1918 flu pandemic
-
The Depression of 1920-1921
-
Followed by the Great Depression that lasted from 1929 – to roughly the end of World War 2
-
Prohibition and the resulting crime wave that ensued from criminal opportunists
-
The creation of the Federal Reserve in the US
-
The Seventeenth Amendment allowing for the direct vote of Senators by popular vote in the US and the subsequent problems that has resulted from that – See John McCain and Diane Fienstein
-
Many events that essentially steamed roll a generation into a hardened, but lost group of survivors who had their lives forever changed
-
Look to the people that we call leaders and when we ask for guidance, we get platitudes and misdirection, as opposed to reality
-
We are on our own, but that should not be frightening – this is our chance for enlightenment, to think freely and to question why we are being misled

Show Notes/Topics And Links:
Peak Oil
-
15 years ago, American consumers had the flexibility to move about with vehicles because of lower fuel prices
-
I believe that we are indeed, heading down the slope of the peak oil curve
-
Fuel prices and energy prices over all, will go up
History
-
The Great Atlantic And Pacific Tea Company(A&P)
-
At one time, A&P was the largest retailer in the world
-
A&P did not adopt quickly enough during the interstate and suburban expansion of the 50s and 60s
-
But during the prosperous years, A&P grew because people lived in urban cities and walked to the stores to get their groceries
-
I believe that we will return back to that older – urban model in upcoming years that made A&P so prosperous
Discretionary Spending
-
Less money to spend
-
We need to be smarter with our shopping
-
Plan your shopping in advance, with lists, coupon collection and planning your shopping route using the internet with map services provided by Google or other search engines
-
Make a day of the shopping experience, but cut it back from two or three times a week, to once a week or every two weeks

Episode 125: Advantages Of Horses…
Show Summary:
Horses have historically been the go to animal in the past as their versatility made them perfect for the farm, battlefield, and routine travel. However, as the western world turned to industrialization and people moved from the farms to the cities, horses gradually lost their usefulness.
Today I want to talk about why I think horses will gradually make a return into the lives of ordinary people. Especially people who live in rural areas. Also, I will discuss some considerations for anyone who is thinking about horses in terms of daily upkeep. So buckle up, strap in, and get ready. The show is about to begin.
Show Notes/Topics And Links:
-
I have limited experience with horses, but speaking from a historic and practically perspective I see many advantages for the use of horses
-
Horses were the multi-use animals for millennia
-
Horses had significant use on the farm
-
Horses had significant use on the battlefield
-
Industrialization has limited their effectiveness
-
As our society slowly slides deeper into this current depression, horses will gradually gain favor in rural areas
-
Cost to keep horses will probably go up because of feed, supplement, and vet prices will rise or not be available in the future in certain geographically areas

Hello Folks,
Warning: Expletive Language In Today Show-Yes, I Did Drop The F-Bomb
Today we are going to cover four topics. I am going to start the show off today with the, “Why we cannot forget segment”. This is the most important part of this show, as we can simply not forget what we have done as human beings and the potential of what we are capable of doing. I like to start the show off with this segment just to get it out of the way so that I can cover some topics that are not quite as dreary. Okay, on with show.
Today’s Show Notes:

- Angel of Death Dies(February 7, 1979)-Dr. Josef Mengele
War is not the answer for dealing with Afghanistan:

Tech Notes/Side Note:
The web page over the next couple of months is going through some changes. I am going to try to do the work during the weekends late at night. I like the current theme, but I am way limited with what I can do with it. For right now though, I am going to be sticking with this theme for the next couple of months. The new theme that I am currently customizing will have more options and as the administrator that comes in handy. The newer theme should launch around mid-April to early May.

Hi Folks,
On this day in history King Louis XVI was sentenced to death. King Louis eventually met his fate at the guillotine. Louis’s wife, Marie Antoinette also suffered the same fate as her husband. This is all well and good except for the fact that 20,000 people suffered the same fate as our before mentioned hapless monarchs. That is a problem, because innocent people were probably executed in the ranks of those 20,000 during the “Reign of Terror”.
But here is the real problem. What it took to actually drive the Parisians to finally do away with their king and queen. Hunger. The kind of hunger that Americans cannot fathom. The men and women who revolted were subsisting on a diet of bread. A diet consisting almost entirely out of bread will barely support life. Try eating bread everyday for a week and see how a human body will react. I have done something very similar during one of the hardest times of my life and my body did not care for that diet.
Oh monarchs, kings, and royalty. Hardly. These people that were anointed as the supreme leaders of a nation were merely people, but with an eloquent title given before their names. In the case of Louis and Marie, terrible rulers.
The fact that King Louis was the sixteenth in his line of succession shows how docile and gullible we can be as people. Wake up! That same type of complacency is here again. Think that I am off my rocker. Than how come close to 50 million Americans are on food stamps now?
I don’t want to see 20,000 people executed. Also, I do not want to see the disunion of this great country either. There is a lot of problems with our nation, but we have time to make a change. A finite amount of time, that is diminishing quickly. Remember, that the French Revolution opened the door for one of history’s greatest despots to gain control of France during the power vacuum. Napoleon Bonaparte.

Hi Folks,
I am going to ramble on about professional football again tonight. Tonight’s topic is about Mike Ditka. On this date, 1993(19 years ago), the Chicago Bears released Coach Ditka as the head coach of the team.
Mr. Ditka was a professional football player before starting a football coaching career. As a player and coach, Mr. Ditka had a pretty remarkable career. I did not got to see Mr. Ditka play, but I did get to see him coach my favorite football team, the Chicago Bears.
The reason the Bears became my favorite team is because of their remarkable 1985 season. During that season the bears went 15-1 that culminated with a professional football championship with a victory over the New England Patriots. That season I became a life long fan of the Bears.
The 1985 Chicago Bears squad is arguably the best football team ever. The teams defense was absolutely lights out. Heck, the D-Line had a guy nicked named the Fridge(his real name is William Perry). The offense was led by a flamboyant quarterback named Jim McMahon who seemed to wear sunglasses whether it was day or night. How could a seven year old kid not fall in love with a team with so much damn bravado?
Leading this incredible team was Coach Ditka. Coach Ditka was able to manage all the personalities on that 85 Bears team and still lead his team to a championship. Also, that has been the only professional football championship that the Bears have won in my lifetime. So as a fan of the sport and the Chicago Bears, I just want to say thank you Coach Ditka. Thanks for the memories.
Take Care,
Lat Cozad
