Hey Folks,

Just another poor man prep for this week.  No podcast today.  Probably one next week, but I just did not feel like it today.

Today I added a couple of additional items to my list that ordinarily I do not include.  I find this stuff at Dollar Tree and I am thinking to myself, it’s just a dollar.  Of course the store was packed.  But for basics, you just can’t beat the price.

Basic Prep:

Basic Prep 3-11-2012

Basic Prep 3-11-2012

Basic Prep Items:

  1. Potted Meat:  2 cans = .70 cents

  2. Peanut Butter:  1 jar = $2.18 dollars

  3. Ramen noodles:  1 box = $2.25 dollars

  4. Instant Oatmeal(plain):  1 box = $1.62 dollars

  5. Sardines:  2 cans =.50 cents

  6. Candles:  2 = $2.00 dollars

  7. Duct Tape:  1 roll = $1.00 dollar

  8. Batteries:  double A = $1.00 dollar

  9. Toilet Paper = .86 cents

  10. Total For Today:  $12.11 dollars before taxes

The candles were a great pickup.  The glass will allow me to carry them around easily.  I will probably pick up a couple more next weekend.  I have been thinking about buying an LED lamp for a while and I will probably will in the future, but for now I will stick with the candles.

The sardines were on sale at Wal-Mart for .25 cents a can.  I have eaten sardines before, but they were smothered in mustard sauce.  Not bad.  The deal is this, if I am hungry then that food will probably end up going down my pie hole.  And cheap protein is hard to come by.  Which reminds me, I saw an item last week that is going to end up in my bugout bag.  Unfortunately, I was in the checkout line and I did not want to move or I would have lost my spot.  But next week that product will definitely end up in my shopping chart.

Bug Out Bag:

Lat
