Yep, I built it and without any government help either. That has became the rallying cry for many small business owners across America since the O-Man’s comments close to a month ago. Mittens and the rest of the R’s are doing their best to make political hay out of this whole drama.
But the political side of this is a joke. The real story is the actual people out there who make small businesses work. The people who bust their asses off just to make it, from one day to the next. Well this podcast is for you my friends. My hat goes off for you, as I salute you for all of the hard work, blood sweat and tears that you have thrown into your business to make it work. It’s more than the American dream. It is the dream of not having to work for the man anymore and controlling your own destiny. Damn right, you built it!

But you tried, you tried damn hard to make it

Nobody forced you to put all of those long hours in – you did it

Scarified all of your time with the hope of not having to working for the man anymore

Listening to the boss man tell you how to do your job

A person who probably hates what they are doing anyway and does not want to be there the same as you

But it is a job – not a business – not freedom – not independence – not your own ship

And that is why you built it – the business that takes you away from working for the man, and calling your own shots

You built it – be damn proud of that
